Now, however, in light of the couple’s recent interview with Oprah, the TV news anchor has been given hour-long segments on Good Morning Britain to speak on his disdain for the couple’s actions, even going as far as denying ‘anything’ Markle says, including her comments about considering suicide.
Unsurprisingly, public backlash has hit an all-time high, with the UK’s TV regulator, OFCOM announcing over 41,000 complaints over Morgan’s comments. In response, ITV has now released a statement that Piers will no longer host the morning show.
“‘Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add,” an ITV spokesperson told MailOnline today.
Things were clearly heating up on the popular news show this morning as Piers Morgan walked off set after being called out by Alex Beresford over his comments. Beresford, the show’s weather presenter, described Piers’ recent comments as ‘diabolical’. The former BGT judge stormed from his seat immediately, saying: “I’m done with this. Sorry. You can trash me mate but not on my own show.”
Morgan was quick out the door of the studio before his co-host, Susanna Reid went to a commercial break.

Online comments surrounding the anchor’s leave are mixed, with some upset at the shock decision and others delighted in light of the anchor’s worrying comments this week.
