Nick Cannon Wears Disguise to the VMAs, Did He Fool Ashanti?

The Masked Singer host Nick Cannon wore quite the outfit to the MTV Video Music Awards over the weekend. Now he’s denying that it was even him, although fans aren’t falling for it. Ashanti shared a hilarious meme about their exchange, and let’s just say people still aren’t over how many kids Cannon has had this year.
Ashanti and Cannon shared a moment on the red carpet before the event. She posted about the encounter on her Instagram stories, and Cannon took a moment to poke fun at himself.
Nick Cannon Disguises Himself at MTV VMAs
On Sunday, Cannon attended the VMAs in a white and silver outfit accessorized with some quirky sunglasses and a new hairdo. Then on Monday, the actor took to social media to post a comparison between his typical look and the get-up he wore on the red carpet.
“This ain’t me!! Y’all trippin,” he wrote on the picture. In the Instagram caption, he further denied that it was him, writing, “I have a brand new Talk show coming out September 27th! Why would I go to the VMA’s like this!?”

Cannon went on to claim that the photo actually depicted a new rapper named Murda Count Harlem. He linked to the rapper’s Instagram profile, which currently has no posts. If we had to guess, we’d say this is a stunt for his new talk show, and we’ll see a segment about it when the show premieres later this month.
Fans were quick to let Cannon know that he wasn’t fooling anyone. One commenter joked that Murda Count Harlem “could pass as one of your babies.” Another user pointed out that they have the same tattoos.
The Disguise Fooled Ashanti
Nick Cannon reposted a couple of Instagram stories from singer Ashanti, in which she shared that she didn’t even know it was him on the red carpet. The pair posed for photos in which Cannon kissed her hand while on one knee. “I didn’t even know that was u!!!” she wrote.
In another hilarious story, Ashanti shared a post suggesting that her hand became pregnant after Cannon kissed it on the red carpet. This is of course a reference to Cannon fathering four babies in less than a year. “Y’all better stop playin with me!!!!” Ashanti wrote.
Cannon reposted the story and added, “This is Hilarious!!!!!” He’s spoken out about how all of the pregnancies were apparently planned, but it’s refreshing to see that he’s willing to embrace the jokes about it. And there are a lot of jokes being made. Even Drake’s recent album announcement inspired people to drag Cannon on social media.
