Pop superstar Kelly Clarkson cannot help but shed tears after actor Henry Winkler shared an empowering message to her daughter. The singer’s daughter River Rose has dyslexia, and she’s unfortunately getting bullied in school because of this condition.

Kelly Clarkson Gets Candid About Her Daughter’s Dyslexia

During the April 18 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson opened up about River’s unlucky bullying experience in school. She talked about this situation as they were tackling Winkler’s upcoming series Detective Duck.

“I was driving my daughter to school yesterday and she’s dyslexic, and you have told me that you’re dyslexic as well,” she said. “I find that amazing, to tell my daughter that you’ve written like 40 books and you’re dyslexic because she was getting bullied at school for not being able to read like all the other kids.”

Clarkson went on to state that she wasn’t aware before that dyslexia is a “common” learning disorder for kids. Winkler supported the fact, saying that “1 in 5 children” are diagnosed with the said condition.

Yet, the “Breakaway” singer finds hope in knowing that several celebrities have managed to do just fine despite having dyslexia. Particularly, she mentioned Anthony Mackie and Zachary Levi. According to her, seeing how open they are about their disability has “empowered” her daughter. Winkler then claimed that River is “part of the tribe,” and delivered a moving message.

“River! How you learn has nothing to do with how brilliant you are,” he said.

Upon hearing this advice, Clarkson couldn’t hold back her tears. She then jokingly gestured the staff to turn off the cameras.

Chemistry is Available For Pre-Order as CD, Vinyl

Amid Clarkson’s smooth-sailing talk show, the singer has recently staged her music comeback. She’s released two tracks from her long-awaited divorce album, Chemistry. Last Thursday, the singer announced that fans can avail a signed CD and vinyl of the collection.

“Grab a signed CD and vinyl for my new album ‘chemistry’ out on June 23rd. I only signed a limited amount so be sure to grab yours before they’re gone!” she wrote.

Clarkson has recently dropped “Mine” and “Me,” two of the many songs that she’s created as part of Chemistry. On April 11, the “Since U Been Gone” hitmaker debuted “Mine” on her talk show’s Kellyoke segment.

“Many fans have been asking me for years about a new project, and I’ve been working on a new album. It’s just taken a minute,” she said. “That song that I just did is actually one of the first singles being released from the record.”

Chemistry is set to be released on June 23, 2023.
