Kelly Clarkson Promises to Release Her New Album This Year

Kelly Clarkson recently did an Instagram Live for her talk show, in which she reflected on last year’s accomplishments and looked ahead to 2022. During the discussion, Clarkson promised fans that she’s releasing a new album later this year.
Kelly Clarkson Talks About Her Upcoming New Album in 2023
“I have an album coming out this year. I swear. I know I’ve been talking about it,” Clarkson told fans during the video, adding that there will be “a really cool way we’re releasing it.”
The singer admitted that it “took a minute” to get to the point where she was ready to release the new project. Clarkson has previously shared that the album is inspired by her recent divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. She explained in the new video that she “had to get past it in order to talk about it.”
Clarkson shared that one of the last songs she wrote for the album might end up being a single, so she’s glad she took her time with it. She promised that the project isn’t “all sad or mad, but that’s in there.”
The singer also revealed that she already did a photo shoot for the album with photographer Brian Smith. She then admitted that she wasn’t “sure if I’m allowed to say that.” However, she said she felt “really free” during the shoot.

Clarkson Shares Who She Wants on Her Show This Year
During the recent video, Clarkson also shared some famous names she’d love to have on her talk show this year. She started off by saying she would “love for Annie Lennox to come on, and I want to sing with her.”
She also regretted that she wasn’t able to sing with Cher on the show last year, because she had Covid-19. However, she enjoyed many of the duets she performed in 2022, including those with Dolly Parton, Sam Smith, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
When asked what new styles she wants to try for Kellyoke this year, she mentioned doing “a metal hair band thing,” adding that she wants to look like “another member of White Snake.” So that’s definitely something to look forward to for 2023.
