American Idol Winner Abi Carter Announces Tour
Last week, Carter took to Instagram to announce that she’s heading out on tour starting this February. The Ghosts in the Backyard Tour, named after her debut album, kicks off February 25 in San Diego, California.
There are seven dates in total, with stops in California, Tennessee, Georgia, and North Carolina. Tickets for the tour are on sale now. A fan in the comments pointed out that February 25 marks one year since Carter’s audition aired on American Idol. Carter responded, “how insane.”
Carter earned the coveted Platinum Ticket from the Idol judges for her audition, in which she performed “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish on the piano. The performance video currently has over 5 million views on YouTube.

Carter Released Her Debut Album in November
Carter won Season 22 of American Idol in May 2024. She released her debut album, Ghosts in the Backyard, in November. The 10-track project included the songs “Peppermint Sky” and “Some People Need Drugs.”
Carter shared in September of last year that she still hadn’t signed to a record label, explaining, “I am currently independent, and I think that that’s a big reason as to why I’m able to find myself and have complete creative freedom. Someday I hope to be with a record label, but I feel like I need to find the right one.”
After the seven scheduled dates on her upcoming tour, Carter will be taking the stage at the Stagecoach Festival in her hometown of Indio, California, on April 25. Meanwhile, Season 23 of American Idol will premiere on ABC on Sunday, March 9.
