The original American Idol winner’s hit talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show is reportedly in talks to move production to the east coast. Kelly Clarkson is quickly becoming known as a famous talk show host just as much as she is known as a singer with her show already airing its fourth season.
The Kelly Clarkson Show Might Move to The East Coast
The upcoming seasons of The Kelly Clarkson Show might be produced at a new place as NBCUniversal is in talks to move the show to the east coast. The daytime talk show has been filmed in Los Angeles, California since it first aired back in 2019. News of the show being renewed up to season six has been the delight of fans all around. However, there is a possibility filmed at the New York metro Tri-State area.
The program will finish its current season on the Universal lot in Los Angeles before perhaps moving to the start of a fifth season next fall. Production strives to preserve continuity and retain as many personnel who’ve been with the program since its inception as possible. As of the moment, there hasn’t been anything finalized about the production moving to the east coast.
According to sources, Clarkson was the one who asked NBCU for the possible move to the east coast. Apparently, the relocation would bring the celebrity closer to family. Additionally, it might also be a new experience for the program, which continues to rise and expand. If the program moves out of Los Angeles, there may be a better tax incentive.
Clarkson Revealed She Wants to Move Out of Los Angeles
Another reason for what sparked the discussion to move The Kelly Clarkson Show out of the state is Clarkson’s own desire to move out of Los Angeles. The singer expressed her desire to live elsewhere due to personal preferences.
“It’s nothing against L.A. It’s just hard for me to be in a place that has one season. I love rain, and I love storms. I’m just from a different place,” Clarkson said. “It’s important to love your life. I love work and I love everybody I work with and I love my friends. But geographically speaking, that wouldn’t be my first choice.”
As of the moment, there’s no telling how the production’s move to the east coast would affect Clarkson’s role as a returning coach on The Voice season 23. The popular NBC singing competition show shoots its episodes at the Universal lot in Los Angeles this spring. Along with Clarkson’s return as a coach, Blake Shelton will be retiring as the longest-running coach of the show.
