John Legend recently put his own spin on a trending TikTok challenge where users start their sentences with “I’m…” followed by their name. In his video, Legend rattles off amusing and boastful one-liners all beginning with “I’m John Legend.”
He opens by mentioning one of his dogs has three legs before declaring “I’m such a good person.” The EGOT recipient then walks up to a piano while saying “I’m John Legend and I’m gonna do this” before playing a quick tune.
Other quips include name-dropping his famous friends Oprah and Beyonce and promoting his Christmas album A Legendary Christmas. Legend caps it off by holding his four EGOT awards while stating “I’m John Legend” with a smug grin.
The silly video delighted fans and quickly went viral. Many viewers found his statements said in a factual tone even funnier paired with his nice guy reputation. The trend also allows Legend to show off his success and talent with a heavy dose of self-aware irony.
John Legend Revels In Holiday Season With Expanded Family
In an interview, Legend opened up about spending his first Christmas with his family of six. Between his 45th birthday on December 28, and the arrival of two new babies, the singer has plenty to celebrate this holiday season.
Legend shares daughter Esti, born in January, and son Wren, born in June, with wife Chrissy Teigen. Their older children Luna and Miles, aged seven and five, are also excited to celebrate the babies’ first Christmas even if they don’t quite understand it yet.
The family plans to relax and focus on enjoying each other’s company instead of working over the winter break. On a personal level, Legend hopes to be the best father and husband he can be in the new year.
