John Legend Harmonizes With Fan Who Chooses Team Kelly in Shocking Twist
Reading Time: 2 minutes
This season of The Voice is nearly to the battle rounds. The Blind Auditions are on their final night and there was a lot of anticipation going into this episode. Performer Aaron Hines mentioned before his audition how he sang a John Legend song at a talent competition as a child and has since loved to sing Legend’s music.
Four-Chair Turn Goes From Legend Super Fan to Team Kelly
Aaron took to the stage singing “Heartbreak Anniversary,” which was a bit of a surprise after he announced his love for Legend before his blind audition. Legend turned his chair first for this singer, followed by Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande, and eventually Blake Shelton.
Aaron’s voice was insanely smooth, almost as if the song had been written for him. As soon as the coaches turned around, he announced that he sings “All of Me” at weddings regularly. Legend asked him to sing a few bars of his song and the two harmonized for a moment that left us all with chills.
I think this one minute of the show was a rewarding experience within itself for the singer. Each of the coaches laid their persuasion on thick when it came to this amazing voice.
Clarkson tried to lean on the fact that she is also from Texas, and Shelton pulled the I’ve won a million times card. This singer really played it off as if he knew who he was going to choose before he even stepped on stage.
Everyone was certain he would choose Team Legend, but Aaron instead chose Team Kelly. This is just the latest shocking performer to join Team Kelly this season. With her team now almost full, it’s clear she has pulled some amazing talent that will be hard for any of the coaches to compete with.
