The Masked Singer Returns with Group C Premiere

The first new contestant to perform in Wednesday’s Group C premiere was Yorkie, who delivered a fun performance of “Hot to Go” by Chappell Roan, showing off a great stage presence. They teased that music has gotten them “through a lot of crazy stuff.” Guesses from the panel about their identity included Chelsea Handler, Paris Hilton, and Kyle Richards.

Next up was Stud Muffin, who sang “Jump Around” by House of Pain, showing off incredible energy on stage. They teased that they’ve always wanted to be a mascot. Guesses from the panel about Stud Muffin’s identity included Method Man, Shaquille O’Neal, and Michael Jordan.

Wednesday’s show also featured a performance by Nessy (as in the Loch Ness Monster), who sang “Roxanne” by the Police, showing off an impressive voice. In their clue package, Nessy called themselves a “gentle giant,” adding that “some would call me a legend.” Guesses from the panel about their identity included Gene Simmons, Dan Reynolds, and Daryl Hall.

Also making their debut during this week’s episode was Mad Scientist Monster, who showed off a country twang on a cover of “Unwell” by Matchbox Twenty. They teased that they were “on the path to become the best in my field,” but they ended up being “sidelined.” Guesses from the panel about Mad Scientist Monster’s identity included Luke Combs, Luke Bryan, and Blake Shelton.

Cherry Blossom Unmasked as Candace Cameron Bure

During Wednesday’s show, Cherry Blossom took the stage to sing “Let’s Get Loud” by Jennifer Lopez. Living up to the song’s title, she definitely got loud, but her voice didn’t impress the crowd enough to take her to next week’s show.

Final guesses from the panel about Cherry Blossom’s identity included Tracey Gold, Jessica Biel, Tina Fey, and Jennie Garth. They were all incorrect, as it turned out to be Full House star Candace Cameron Bure. The fact that Robin Thicke guessed incorrectly was especially surprising, since the pair has known each other since they were kids — Bure’s brother Kirk Cameron appeared on Growing Pains, which co-starred Thicke’s father Alan. Thicke even shared that the pair dated “for a week” when they were 13.

In her clue package, Bure said she was there to “honor my close friend who’s been here before.” She was referring to the late Bob Saget, who appeared on The Masked Singer Season 4 as Squiggly Monster. Saget, who co-starred with Bure on Full House, sadly passed away in 2022.

Bure said that when she heard Saget perform on the show, she knew from “the first note he sang” that it was him under the mask. The actress told Entertainment Weekly that Saget “made the show so special to me,” sharing that she had been asked to compete four times before finally saying yes.
