Jingle Master Sums up ‘American Idol’ Season 19 in Hilarious Finale Performance
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Remember Tom McGovern? He is the ridiculously handsome jingle master that auditioned for American Idol this season. While we thought he deserved to go through to the next round of the competition, he was unfortunately sent home without a golden ticket. The good news is, he’s back and better than ever.
‘American Idol’ Brings Back Jingle Master Tom McGovern for Special Finale Performance
American Idol surprised us all when they announced they would be bringing Tom back to perform at the three-hour finale. His big performance was a hilariously real jingle about everything that happened on one of the most chaotic seasons of American Idol ever.
Tom pretty much owned the night with his jingle dedicated to Season 19. His finale performance was short and sweet. It was an awesome way to change the pace of the nail-biting show. Can we have Tom back for every season finale?
The song called “Story Of The Season Jingle” is the perfect balance of funny, cringeworthy, and the biggest trip down memory lane ever. Tom relived everything from this season including his audition that we have not stopped thinking about.
Tom sang about a “pirate and a Viking” in his jingle. This was an homage to contestant Andrea Valles who wore an eye patch and Anthony Guzman who dressed as a Viking. The comedic performer also gave a special shoutout to unforgettable contestant Yurisbel.
Other American Idol moments that we were able to look back on during this performance include Katy Perry ripping her wig off during Hollywood week and Murphy’s shocking elimination before the live shows. Arthur Gunn’s big comeback and Hunter Mett’s tearful onstage moment were also huge pieces of the season that we can’t forget.
What was your favorite part of Tom’s jingle performance tonight? Ours is the fact that he threw in Paula Abdul’s guest judging appearance that led to one ultra cringe moment where she dissed Simon Cowell.
