Jessie J to Nicki Minaj: “Bang Bang Would Never Have Been What it was Without You Guys”

Reading Time: 3 minutes
Jessie J posted a series of videos to Instagram as an apology to Nicki Minaj. Jessie J did this after Minaj tweeted denying that she begged to be on their hit song “Bang Bang.” The argument arose after Minaj saw Jessie J’s recent interview where she stated “We [Ariana Grande and Jessie J] didn’t go to her [Nicki Minaj] and ask; she wanted to do it.”
Jessie J had a lot to say about the bad blood between the two in the caption of her video series. Even during a large amount of drama between she and Minaj, she still shows her sense of humor.
Jessie J Jokes About the “Bang Bang” Twitter Beef
Jessie J’s Instagram post contained a main video of her mouthing the words to Minaj’s part in the song. It’s obvious she doesn’t know the words to the rap. She expressed that this video had become a meme in the past two weeks. The second video in this video series is from the AMA’s where Jessie J is seen as Minaj’s handrail. For both videos the singer joked that it’s possible that’s where the weird energy came from.
She continued to share that the situation isn’t that deep and that if they can’t laugh in life, what’s the point. Jessie J once again expressed that she has gratitude for both Minaj and Grande. She even once again emphasized she is grateful for the song and the collaboration.
Jessie J then began her apology to both Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande. It began with the clarification that she just found out Grande had written the song with Max Martin. Until then, she had been under the impression that Martin had written the song alone.
“I’m sorry I got the story wrong all these years, I was told you heard the song and wanted to be on it by someone clearly gassing me up at the label. (Bless them and my naive ass),” Jessie J wrote. “Thank you for clarifying I was wrong on that and Do it like dude 😂 Told me huh.”
Even after Minaj’s Twitter rage over the mistake, Jessie J seems to be in high spirits. Her caption continued by joking that this is really the way to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the song.
Fans Went Wild, Hilarious Memes Following Minaj’s Rage
Jessie J said it herself, the memes from this drama are very entertaining. Minaj’s fans did not disappoint when it came to clapbacks about this situation. Since Jessie J’s apology Minaj has deleted her original post. Nevertheless, Jessie J has reportedly unfollowed Minaj on Instagram.
The 2014 hit became RIAA certified 8x platinum on February 12 2021, and is expected to hit Diamond status in less than a year. It’s possible this status will be reached sooner since the song is in the news once again.
If anything, this drama will just get more publicity to this old hit. Ariana Grande was mentioned as apart of this drama, but has yet to respond to either of the other singers.
