Ed Sheeran has new music on the way and this time the singer has enlisted help from his “good friend” Taylor Swift. The Voice mega mentors are teaming up for their single “The Joker And The Queen.” Fans can pre-order or pre-save the song, which premieres this Friday.
Sheeran took to his Instagram to share the good news, much to the delight of his fans. The new collaboration is actually a remix of Sheeran’s song that appeared on his fifth studio album, Equals.
The visuals for the quick snippet show a card with the joker and the queen of hearts in rotation. Swift’s verse on the song describes a queen falling in love with the outcast of the royal family. Speculation that a collaboration between the singers was coming began earlier this week when Sheeran posted autographed copies of his album. Fans believed that the queen looked similar to Swift.
Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift are Friends Forever
This is not the first time that the two singer-songwriters are coming together in the name of music. They collaborated in 2012 with the single “Everything Has Changed.” That year their friendship blossomed. In 2013 the singers toured together on Swift’s Red tour.
Sheeran and Swift followed up with “End Game” as well as their third collaboration “Run,” which is featured on Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version) album.
From cheering each other on at award shows to Sheeran meeting his wife at one of Swift’s Fourth of July parties, their bond is strong.
This will be the first time fans hear from Swift since she released her short film All Too Well. Sheeran is gearing up for his 2022 Mathematics tour. His new tour will mark his return to the live stage since 2019. Sheeran’s Divide tour is on record as being the highest grossing tour of all time.
