DWTS Host Alfonso Ribeiro Trains with Emma Slater
On Thursday, Slater posted a video on Instagram showing her and Ribeiro practicing a fast-paced dance routine. Afterward, Slater can be heard praising Ribeiro’s performance, saying it’s “by far the quickest routine we’ve learned.”
Slater wrote in the video’s caption that she and Ribeiro have been training “at least two days a week” this summer, adding that “it’s been so brilliant for both of us.” Ribeiro previously competed on DWTS, winning Season 19 with partner Witney Carson.
“Alfonso is so passionate about learning as much as he can about dance, and growing in his understanding of it all,” Slater wrote. “It’s so admirable. And I’ve been putting new routines on him and experimenting with choreography that I want to try and it has been so helpful and rewarding for me also!!”
The dancer added that she misses their rehearsals since Ribeiro is currently traveling. Ribeiro commented that he loves training with Slater, writing, “I’ve learned so much about all of the dances. As soon as I get back we start back up.”

Ribeiro Is Hosting Season 32 with Julianne Hough
Ribeiro joined DWTS as a co-host last season, alongside Tyra Banks. For Season 32, which is expected to air next year, Ribeiro will be joined by former pro dancer Julianne Hough. Derek Hough, Julianne’s brother, will be returning to the judging panel alongside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
“We wanna make it family again. Make it really just warm and everybody have a great time,” Ribeiro said earlier this year, with Hough adding, “Honestly, it’s just family again. I’m just excited. I can’t wait to see everybody back on the dance floor and just get our groove on.”
So far, only one celebrity contestant has been announced for Season 32 — Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix. Season 32 will air on both ABC and Disney+. A premiere date has yet to be announced, but this season is expected to air in the fall.
