Julianne Hough Replaces Tyra Banks on DWTS
Last week, DWTS co-host Tyra Banks hinted that she would not be returning to the show for Season 32. She explained that she wanted to focus more on her business and the producing side of things. Now, her departure is confirmed as Julianne Hough is set to replace her.
Julianne shared the exciting news on Instagram Monday morning. In a statement to Variety, the former pro dancer said it was “such an honor” to be returning to the show. She added, “The incredible team that brings the ballroom to life every night has been my family for the past 17 years.”
Alfonso Ribeiro, who joined the show as a co-host last season, will also return to emcee alongside Julianne. Variety also reports that judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough will return to the panel for Season 32. Last season, longtime judge Len Goodman announced his departure.
Derek Hough Confirms His Return to the Judging Panel
Julianne’s brother Derek also took to Instagram on Monday to share the news that he’ll be back as a judge for Season 32 of DWTS. He added that he’ll be judging the show while on his upcoming tour of the United States.
Derek joked that fans “can all tell me in person if you agree with my scores in real time.” The dancer announced the tour, which will also feature his fiancée Hayley Erbert, on The Kelly Clarkson Show last month.
The judge also acknowledged his sister’s new role on the show, writing, “Oh. I hear we have a new co-host. She has a weird last name, really hard to pronounce.”
Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars is expected to premiere sometime this fall on Disney+.
