We were sad to learn that Kelly Clarkson and her husband Brandon Blackstock have decided to divorce after nearly seven years of marriage. Kelly reportedly filed for divorce earlier this month.
This news comes out of left field for a lot of Kelly’s fans, who didn’t notice any problems between Kelly and Brandon recently. However, could Kelly’s Twitter account hold clues about a marriage struggle?
Did Kelly Clarkson Hint At Divorce On Twitter?
Kelly and her family have been spending quarantine in their cabin in Montana. The singer has posted videos and photos on Instagram featuring her husband Brandon. For Kelly’s birthday, Brandon and their kids recorded a video message for her.

Kelly responded to the video by saying she’d had “a bit of a rough week.” She didn’t elaborate, but it’s not the only comment Kelly made on Twitter that she was having a tough time during quarantine.
During a Q&A on Twitter in April, Kelly told a fan that she’s in therapy, and she has to “check in” with herself frequently because of how busy she is. “I can get very unhealthy emotionally if I’m not constantly checking in with myself and evaluating my decisions/goals/reality,” she wrote.
She also said she’s been writing songs in quarantine, which she tends to do “when I’m struggling.” She later tweeted her frustration over her broken dryer, writing, “I feel like my patience and tolerance is being tested lately and, well, all I can say is I’m not thriving.”
Did Kelly And Brandon Struggle With Quarantine?
While Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich recently announced their split after spending time apart during the pandemic, some fans think Kelly and Brandon may have had the opposite issue.
“Trapped with her hubby and kids in a cabin must have pushed them over the edge,” commented one fan on Entertainment Tonight‘s announcement of the split. It hasn’t been a smooth experience in the cabin, either, as the pipes froze in March and Kelly had to use her toddler’s potty.

While Kelly seemed to be struggling with quarantine a bit, based on her social media comments, Brandon was apparently enjoying it. During a segment on her talk show, Kelly spoke about Brandon’s love of horseback riding and said social distancing has been “heaven” for him.
Could this difference of opinion on the isolation lifestyle have contributed to marriage trouble? Kelly is known for being candid, so we’ll have to wait and see if she shares more with fans.

Her latest song, ‘I dare you’ also had lyrics that were sketchy at best. It had words like ‘You may not have the stage, but you still have a voice. You may not have the strength, but if you have a choice.’
