The countdown begins now… America’s Got Talent has officially secured their time slot for season 18! America’s favorite variety show is set to return to NBC on Tuesday, May 30. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming season.
America’s Got Talent Set to Return to NBC This Summer
America’s Got Talent fans can officially count down to the next season of the show. Now that the series is in the thick of auditions, the network has officially confirmed their premiere date. For those who may not know, AGT began filming season 18 auditions on Thursday, March 23.
On March 30, 2023, America’s Got Talent shared a photo on Instagram, confirming their judging panel of the upcoming season. The panel once again features comedian Howie Mandel, supermodel Heidi Klum, actress Sofia Vergara, and the infamous Simon Cowell. Behind the judges is longtime AGT host Terry Crews.
Since AGT has confirmed a Tuesday premiere, fans can expect the series to premiere weekly in the 8 p.m. EST time slot, as per usual. AGT will premiere on NBC and will be available for streaming on Peacock.
The show is still deep in auditions, so fans interested in attending a taping can still get free tickets for showings from April 1-14.
Fans Can’t Wait for Sofia Vergara’s Return to the Judging Panel
While most of the comments on this Instagram post are about the upcoming season, many commented about the inclusion of actress Sofia Vergara. For those who may not know, many fans were upset earlier this year when Vergara wasn’t involved in the show’s spin-off series, AGT All-Stars.
Although this series showed off the best of the best of the Got Talent series, it didn’t feature the actress, even though she had been on the judging panel since 2020. In many instances, Vergara’s absence wasn’t mentioned on the season. Fans noticed that mentions of her were far and few between and clips that featured her weren’t always used.
It’s been rumored that the actress was busy filming another project when the pre-recorded series began, but the actress never confirmed nor denied the rumor. Nonetheless, fans are thrilled to hear about her return to the talent show.
