This season of America’s Got Talent is officially over, but that doesn’t mean the acts are finished just yet. AI-based magician Mastermind recently returned to social media, after dropping out of the competition. Here’s what he’s currently teasing.
AGT Magician Mastermind Teases Return to Stage
Nearly a week after the America’s Got Talent competition concluded, fan-favorite magician Mastermind began teasing his next trick, via Instagram. On Sunday, September 28, the magician shared a video of himself, floating above the ground, with what seems to be Las Vegas behind him.
The magician began his Instagram caption, asking if fans are “READY FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER?” Then, he wrote “#AGT… putting the A.I. in ‘mAgIc’ since the beginning of time,” and “DON’T THINK ABOUT MASTERMIND.”
Fans were quick to notice the hashtags strategically placed in the caption that include #nyc, #newyork, #la, #vegas, #lasvegas, #london, #rome, #paris, #dc, #washingtondc, #chicago, and #show.
It seems like the magician is beginning to tease a tour, coming to New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, London, Rome, Paris, Washington DC, and Chicago.
During the America’s Got Talent auditions round, Mastermind took the stage with a mind-blowing act that combined AI and magic. The magician earned four “yeses” during the audition, which featured the magician scaring audience members and judges while making Howie Mandel’s phone unlock, open the camera app, and even control Simon Cowell’s glasses.
Mastermind returned to the AGT stage during quarterfinal three when he performed yet another AI based magic act. This act featured the magician using judges’ phone and audience thoughts for another set of AI based magic tricks.
Who is Mastermind?
Since Mastermind dropped out of the competition, fans have been determined to figure out his hidden identity. When scrolling through tagged photos, there’s no evidence of Mastermind’s true identity. The only possible clue we have is related to the acts Mastermind follows.
Mastermind is “following” AGT Season 12 alum Colin Cloud, as well as TV consultant, Luke Dancy. It seems like Dancy is a TV based magic consultant, so he’s possibly part Mastermind’s acts, but not the face.
That leads to Colin Cloud. In case you missed it, Cloud is a magician who first appeared on BGT in 2012. Since his inaugural season, he’s gone on to compete on AGT in 2017, The Champions, and spin off BGT: The Ultimate Magician. He also returned to the BGT stage as part of Magicians Assemble in 2024.
Cloud currently has a Las Vegas show titled Mastermind at Harrah’s Cabaret at Harrah’s Las Vegas. He performs shows weekly from Tuesday to Saturday. NOTE: There has been no confirmation that Mastermind and Colin Cloud are the same person, this is just a theory.
