‘AGT: Extreme’ Judge Travis Pastrana Suffers Accident While Filming Base Jump
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Travis Pastrana shared multiple videos to Instagram after a stunt went horribly wrong for the daredevil as he was filming for Gymkhana. Luckily, Pastrana says he will make a fully recovery after the accident and seems to be in good spirits. Immediately after seeing the recent post, fans are wondering what will happen for AGT: Extreme.
Pastrana took to Instagram to share the story of his recent accident. Within the video he shares that he went 100+ miles per hour while filming. He said that the ’83 Subaru GL Wagon handles like a dream, but also got him into the hospital. The daredevil compared the vibe behind the experience to Dukes of Hazzard.
In his second video, he shared that he broke his L5 in his back, suffers from multiple hip fractures, and a pinned sacrum. The daredevil also shared that he already was up and moving given the fractures and the doctors don’t anticipate his injuries getting worse.
“I had the opportunity to BASE jump a very easy set up from a tall building with a big landing. Had the best in the business out here giving me the best advice but a series of unfortunate events led to me being in a bad place,” Pastrana said. “Usually I shine when shit hits the fan, but it was me that “hit the fan” this time. I will make a full recovery.”
At the end of the video he thanked his mom for coming to help him in the moment. His wife, Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins is in the hospital room with him, with their children. The daredevil emphasizes that he will make a full recovery from this injury within his video. At the end of his long caption he noted that his suit was cut off after the accident. He tagged Alpinestars Inc. to say he needs a new one in four to five weeks.
Will His Accident Affect AGT: Extreme?
There is still a lot of unknown things about AGT: Extreme, including whether this series will have live shows or not. Considering the show will only air for four weeks, it’s likely that the entire series is prerecorded, so this accident will not affect the show.
If there are live shows in the upcoming season, Pastrana should be able to make an appearance depending on his healing time. AGT: Extreme premieres on Feb. 21 on NBC.
