‘Go-Big Show’ Wildcard Annaliese Nock Becomes First Woman Ever in the Finals

Thursday night’s new episode of Go-Big Show was unprecedented for a few reasons, including the reveal of this year’s wildcard act. Annaliese Nock, aka the Daredaughter, took the fourth spot in the finale, becoming the first woman to make it that far in two seasons.
Annaliese Nock Is ‘Go-Big Show’ Wildcard Act
During Thursday’s Semifinals episode, 60-year-old diver Professor Splash earned the third guaranteed spot in the Season 2 Finals. He’ll join the first two Semifinals winners Manu Lataste and James Carter in next week’s finale for a shot at the $100,000 grand prize.
But just like last season, there are four spots in this year’s finale. So the show brought back the three contestants who won their Semifinals matchups but didn’t earn a guaranteed spot. One of those performers was JD “Iceman” Anderson, who won his matchup after a three-way tie in this week’s episode.
The other acts up for the wildcard spot were “Umbrella Queen” Lina Liu and Annaliese Nock, whose Semifinals performance with her father Bello Nock brought judge Cody Rhodes to tears. After a brief deliberation, the judges chose to send Annaliese to the Finals.

Annaliese Is the First Woman to Make It to the Finals
There was a chance that this would be the second year with an all-male finale. Last year, there were no women in the final round of the competition, and the first three contestants who made it through this year were also all men.
It’s great to finally see a female competitor up for the show’s grand prize. The dangerous and large-scale talents showcased on Go-Big Show are frequently associated more with male performers, but the series has featured so many talented women over the past two years.
Before her Semifinals performance, Annaliese actually pointed out the lack of female performers in last season’s finale, which made her even more determined to earn a spot. She got her wish, further proving that going big isn’t just for the boys.
Annaliese should have won that! The amount of talent that follows her enterprise would fuel the show for years. She proved a woman has to do three times as much as a man for the same pay! Most Circus artists master ONE thing. She is a master of many. The other contestants just shuffled around the same act. She’ll make us keep on coming back because she is not afraid to branch out!
