‘Go-Big Show’ Semifinals: Three-Way Tie Requires Two Tiebreakers
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Go-Big Show Season 2 returned Thursday night for the final round of the Semifinals, as one more act was chosen to compete in next week’s finale. Tonight’s episode featured an unprecedented moment, when a three-way tie in the first matchup required not one but two tiebreakers to decide who should move on.
Three-Way Tie in ‘Go-Big Show’ Semifinals
The first matchup of the night was between Thomas Vu, JD “Iceman” Anderson, and Jonathan “Rolla Bolla” Rinny. Thomas kicked things off by solving three Rubik’s cubes while holding his breath underwater. Next up was JD, who smashed through 14 ice blocks which were set on fire.
The matchup wrapped up with Jonathan, who took his Rolla Bolla act to new heights, juggling blades and rising up from his platform on a stack of cylinders. The judges were blown away by all three acts, and it showed in the scores.
All three contestants received an average score of 96 from the judges for their performances. That means the show had to utilize a tiebreaker to determine which act had the chance to go to the Season 2 Finals. But it turned out not even that was enough to narrow things down.

Two Tiebreakers Will Decide the Winner
Because the contestants’ final scores were determined by averaging the judges’ individual scores, the first tiebreaker involved adding the scores together. Thomas had a cumulative score of 383, while JD and Jonathan both had scores of 385.
That meant that Thomas was eliminated, but the show still had to decide between JD and Jonathan as the winner of the first matchup. For the second tiebreaker, the show considered each of their scores from the first round of the competition.
JD’s first score was 92, which beat Jonathan’s score of 79 and gave him a shot at the finale spot. It was a shame to see Jonathan lose out after improving his score so much this week, but this was an extremely tight matchup. Do you agree with JD’s victory? Let us know in the comments.
