This week’s episode of The Masked Singer Season 9 will be a little bit different, as there will be zero eliminations and unmaskings. Instead, the show will take a look back at the six contestants who still remain in the competition.
The Masked Singer to Feature Zero Unmaskings This Week
Last week’s episode wrapped up the third round of the competition, as UFO became the final champion to move on, joining previous champions California Roll and Macaw. Meanwhile, three contestants were saved by the panel for a chance to stay in the competition — Medusa, Gargoyle, and Mantis.
In this week’s new episode of the show, fans will get a closer look at the journeys of these six contestants. The episode will also feature new performances from the three champions, as well as new clues and behind-the-scenes clips from the season.
“I always say before each season, can the producers actually make this show even better each year? And they do,” panelist Jenny McCarthy said in an interview. “I am in love with the themes. I love the people that they’re attracting.”

The Season’s Underdogs Will Soon Go Head to Head
The Masked Singer is referring to the three contestants saved by the “Ding Dong, Keep It On” bell as the underdogs. Next week’s show will reportedly be a “Battle of the Saved” episode, as the three of them go head to head to stay in the competition.
Those three contestants are Medusa, Gargoyle, and Mantis. They’ll all be fighting for one coveted spot, so it’s sure to be competitive. We’ll have to wait until next Wednesday night at 8/7c on FOX to see how it all goes down.
“I’m really enjoying Medusa. Sometimes when she’s performing, I’m losing my mind because she’s got this, like, grit about her,” McCarthy said, adding, “No one in this group wants to go home and you can tell they fight so hard to be there.”
