Reading Time: 5 minutes
Ten more acts are coming to compete on the next episode of America’s Got Talent: Champions. We’re breaking all of them down, from the musicians to the magicians and everything in between!
Meet The Next Batch of ‘AGT: Champions’
Collabro
The Act: All-male a capella singing group
Claim to Got Talent Fame: Winners of Britain’s Got Talent Series 8
Advantages: They’re not only one of two former winning acts in this group, they’ve also been one of the more successful post-Got Talent acts, having released five albums and gone on tour since their victory.
Disadvantages: They’re not the only singing act on this week to have previously won or the only musical theater-based one so they might have a bit of trouble standing out. Not only that, but they are the only singing group of the week, and voters tend to have trouble connecting to groups vs. individual performers.
Luke Islam
The Act: Musical theater-style singer
Claim to Got Talent Fame: Receiving Julianne Hough‘s Golden Buzzer on America’s Got Talent Season 14
Advantages: He’s a recent, familiar face to AGT viewers and for that reason the superfans may be more attached to him.
Disadvantages: Luke isn’t the only Broadway-style act on this week, and the other two singing acts have a more bold, theatrical style of performing which could cause him to fade into the background.

Boogie Storm
The Act: Dancing Stormtroopers. Yes, seriously.
Claim to Got Talent Fame: Recipients of Simon Cowell‘s Golden Buzzer on BGT Series 10.
Advantages: Not only are they in the Golden Buzzer club, they also have a pretty good track record across the pond. The group made it all the way to the Series 10 finals and were one place shy of making the BGT: The Champions finale as well.
Disadvantages: Compared to a lot of the other acts this week, Boogie Storm don’t have nearly as much…prestige. They’re a novelty act, which could bode very well for them if it helps them stand out from the crowd but very bad if the superfan voters are unable to take the act seriously enough to send it to the finale.
Ben Blaque
The Act: Crossbow sharpshooting danger performer
Claim to Got Talent Fame: Being chosen by Howard Stern to compete for a wildcard spot in AGT Season 7 after being eliminated in the quarter-finals, and making the semi-finals on BGT Series 10.
Advantages: He’s the only act of his kind in this crop, which may help him stand out from the other acts.
Disadvantages: Ben finished significantly lower on his original season than the majority of this week’s acts did on theirs.
Spencer Horsman
The Act: Escape artist
Claim to Got Talent Fame: Being chosen by Howard Stern to compete for a wildcard spot in AGT Season 7 after being eliminated in the quarter-finals (hmmm sound familiar?) and also competed on the French version of the show.
Advantages: He’s the only act of his kind in this crop, which may help him stand out from the other acts. (Again, sound familiar?)
Disadvantages: Escape acts rarely get good reception on this show.
Ryan Niemiller
The Act: Stand-up comedian
Claim to Got Talent Fame: Finishing in third place on AGT Season 14
Advantages: He’s a familiar face who has proven to be a successful AGT contestant in the past, has a great backstory, and is the only comedy act on this week.
Disadvantages: There was some pushback about recent high-placing contestants returning so soon and doing so well again on the original AGT Champions, so there may be a vibe of wanting things to go differently this time.

Marcelito Pomoy
The Act: Singer with a wide vocal range
Claim to Got Talent Fame: Winner of Pilipina’s Got Talent Season 2
Advantages: This guy clearly knows what it takes to be a talent show champion and will be a hit on AGT Champions.
Disadvantages: Marcelito isn’t as well-known as most of the other acts, so he’ll have to deliver something extra-special if he wants to get noticed.
Puddles Pity Party
The Act: Singing sad clown
Claim to Got Talent Fame: Being red-buzzed by Simon Cowell – and subsequently eliminated – in the Season 12 quarter-finals despite being a fan-favorite in the first two rounds.
Advantages: A lot of people love his gimmick and were even pushing for him to be a wildcard on his season.
Disadvantages: Simon wasn’t afraid to buzz him before, so who’s to say he won’t do it again on AGT: Champions?
Oz Pearlman
The Act: Mentalist
Claim to Got Talent Fame: Coming in third place on AGT Season 10
Advantages: Was very well-liked by the judges on his first season, so could end up winning their favor again here.
Disadvantages: A lot of magic acts tend to repeat their original acts on AGT Champions, which people started catching on to last season.
Marc Spelmann
The Act: Magician
Claim to Got Talent Fame: Runner up on BGT Series 13
Advantages: This guy knows how to be creative and keep people invested in the act (he put on a whole mystery as “X” on BGT, returning in secret after competing on a previous season).
Disadvantages: The American audience doesn’t have the same history or familiarity with his previous acts as a BGT crowd would.
