Tina Knowles-Lawson Leaves the Queens Starstruck on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars’
Reading Time: 4 minutes
After weeks of anxiously waiting, it’s finally time for “Snatch Game of Love” on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars! The queens all chose celebrities to impersonate. They went on a quest to look for love with extra special celebrity guests Cheyenne Jackson and Fortune Feimster. Two queens soared with their hilarious comedy chops and made RuPaul cackle louder than ever before.
This weeks episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars kicked off with RuPaul announcing an incredible guest judge. Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, joined the judging panel. Trinity K. Bonet described the experience as “like meeting god.” We can all let out a sigh of relief that nobody decided to impersonate Beyoncé this time around because nobody ever does Queen B justice on this show.
Tina Knowles-Lawson Serves as Guest Judge for Snatch Game on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars’
Ginger Minj decided to portray Phyllis Diller for Snatch Game this time around. She was joined by Kylie Sonique Love as Dolly Parton, and Trinity as Whitney Houston. Cheyenne was the first “snatchelor” and the queens had to try and win him over with the answers to his questions.
Ginger and Kylie were absolutely hilarious going back and forth with their exchanges. Trinity found it hard to think on her feet and faded into the background. Kylie looked exactly like Parton. She redeemed herself after she was the first person ever sent home over her Snatch Game performance in Season 2. Kylie isn’t really considered a comedy queen but this challenge was a nice surprise.
You could hear crickets when Cheyenne asked Trinity who her celebrity hall pass is. Comedy has never been Trinity’s strong suit. It became obvious that she was in trouble. Kylie had Cheyenne and RuPaul cackling to the point that Ru doubled over. Cheyenne chose Ginger as the winner of his heart. Kylie not winning stings a little but it’s OK because she stole America’s hearts.
Tina Calls One Queen ‘Stunning’ on the Runway
Next up was Eureka O’Hara as Divine, Pandora Boxx as Kim Catrall, and Ra’Jah O’Hara as La Toya Jackson. Ru has known La Toya for over 25 years so there was definitely a lot of pressure. Nobody in this group was as funny as the first group. Fortune actually did not choose anybody as the winner of this round. Instead, she and Cheyenne jokingly proposed to each other.
Tina is a fashion expert so her opinion was highly appreciated in this week’s pop art runway challenge. She loved Ginger’s outfit filled with fun colors. Trinity delivered her best look of the season. It paid tribute to very important social issues and sent a powerful message. Tina called Trinity’s outfit “stunning.” However, the judges advised Trinity that she should have chosen a more over the top character in Snatch Game.
Kylie’s runway look was very glamorous. The judges had no idea she could execute the personality of Parton. RuPaul was worried at first but surprised by Kylie’s performance because she really pushed herself. Kylie is the dark horse this season and a strong contender for the crown.
A True ‘Drag Race’ Legend is Sent Home
The judges have had a soft spot for Ginger all season. It’s clear that she is the real frontrunner of the competition, securing a win in Snatch Game this week. This is her second challenge win. Pandora and Trinity were in the bottom. Heidi N Closet was revealed as the lip sync assassin.
Ginger and Heidi performed “Sugar Walls” by Sheena Easton. For the second week in a row, a queen lost her wig during the lip-sync. Heidi’s hair piece flew off of her head. She came prepared though with a ponytail underneath. Heidi tried to redeem her performance by doing a bunch of tricks and splits. Ginger tried to imitate her by doing her own version of a split. Heidi was no match for Ginger.
Ginger dominated the lip-sync and was declared the winner. It was very emotional for her to send Pandora home. Pandora has always been known as a comedy queen. This is her third Snatch Game and fans expected her to do well. She was sadly off her game this time. Ginger made the right decision though because the queens left in the competition all have great track records. Honestly, the real lip-sync assassin of the season is Ginger.
