Fans Defend Gwen Stefani After She’s Accused of Photoshopping Pics of Blake Shelton’s Ex
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Gwen Stefani changed her profile picture on Twitter to a photo of her and Blake Shelton. It is a normal thing that people do all of the time. This time, it eventually led to an all-out Twitter war. An Entertainment Tonight story suggests that Stefani actually photoshopped Shelton’s ex wife, Kaynette Williams, out of the photo herself.
Gwen Stefani’s Fans Come to Her Defense After She is Accused of Photoshopping Throwback Picture
When Stefani announced that she had changed her profile picture recently, people commented saying it was “disrespectful and unnecessary.” Another tweet referred to Stefani as “a petty b*tch.” The throwback photo of Shelton was photoshopped by a fan to include Stefani. Shelton’s profile picture is also a photoshopped photo of the pair posing when they were younger. It’s a cute way for them to show off their love online.
Stefani’s fans came to her defense to show that the original photo was just a solo photo of Shelton from the 2003 CMA’s. Williams was actually never in the photo. It is true that Shelton and Williams posed for other photos together at the event, but this was not one of them. There is a plant over Shelton’s right shoulder in the original photos of the exes posing together. A fan must’ve photoshopped Stefani into one of Shelton’s solo photos from the CMA’s.
Fans always show love for their favorite celebrities by creating their own edits. Shelton and Stefani have always embraced the photos that fans have edited of them. They have posted photoshopped throwback photos of them together multiple times. This time is no different.
Fans Are Outraged By the Accusations
“Nah, a fan made this and Gwen thought it was funny because of the clashing styles,” a fan further elaborated on Twitter. “They look odd together, especially with their outfits from back in the day. It’s a joke. She doesn’t know the original pic, people read too much into it.”
Shelton and Williams were married from 2003 to 2006. He was also married to Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015. Shelton and Stefani tied the knot on July 3 in an intimate Oklahoma ceremony. Stefani has been constantly sharing photos from the big day on social media.
“They really think Gwen is sitting at the house all day editing old pics, huh,” another fan wrote on Twitter.
Shelton and Stefani are one of the busiest celebrity couples in Hollywood. In between filming for Season 21 of The Voice, Shelton is embarking on his Friends and Heroes Tour. He also just performed at CMA Summer Jam, airing on television on September 2. Stefani will be continuing her Las Vegas residency this fall. They seem a little too busy to be taking master classes in Photoshop like the haters think they are.
