‘The X Factor UK’ Kicks Off With Some Memorable Auditions
The X Factor UK is back and we couldn’t be more excited. The best singing acts from all over Great Britain descended on Simon, Nicole, Sharon, and Louis to show off their talent. Most of the acts that were broadcast were unbelievably good. A couple…not so much. One things for sure: this is going to be an incredible season.

One of the things that I like about The X Factor UK as an American is that it culls its talent from all over the the British Isles. I haven’t heard of half of the places these singers are from so it’s educational as well as entertaining. It would be very easy for the show to turn into a showcase of polished acts from London, but that’s never been what the show is about. It’s clear that many of these folks have really struggled in life, which makes the fact that they have a shot to be on TV and win The X Factor all the more sweet.

The judges know pretty much immediately if someone is going to make it or not. You can tell on their faces, especially Simon. That guy has NO poker face. Who will win? Will it be Sam Black, the new father with the golden voice? How about Jack and Joel the beatboxing singers? Perhaps it will be Rak-su the adorable boy band? It’s hard to say.

A couple of performances really stood out as contenders. Grace Davies sang an original song about her struggles as a singer and wowed the judges. Shanaya Atkinson-Jones might win it all with her Adele-like voice while Welsh nana’s boy Lloyd Macey made the judge’s smile. Kayleigh Taylor has Simon’s name tattooed on her butt and blew them away with her voice. We’ll see what happens but I am totally psyched.
