Ashe Auditioned for ‘American Idol’ as a Teenager
On Sunday before the show, Ashe posted a TikTok showing a photo of herself at age 17, auditioning for American Idol. She throws a shocked expression to the camera while wearing a hoodie and holding her phone. She added in smaller text that she didn’t make it past the first round.
Ashe then showed a brief shot of herself now, before turning the camera around to show the TV listing for last night’s American Idol episode, featuring a performance from herself. At the end of the clip, she added a shot of her name outside her dressing room on the show.
The video is set to “Sh-boom (Life Could Be a Dream)” by the Chords. The 28-year-old has certainly followed her dreams, and is creating a promising career for herself. Ashe recently released her debut album, titled Ashlyn, after several years of performing and songwriting.
Ashe grew up in Los Angeles, singing in church and listening to Christian music. However, her grandfather introduced her to more popular artists like the Beach Boys. She attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and graduated in 2015.
