Britney Spears is making headlines this week, as she posed nude on Instagram and opened up about her marriage to ex-husband Sam Asghari. The singer called their relationship a “fake distraction” as she dealt with her estrangement from her two sons.
Britney Spears Poses Nude, Calls Marriage ‘Fake Distraction’
Over the weekend, Britney Spears posted a nude photo of herself on Instagram. The image is taken from behind, as she stands with her arms up in front of a window, wearing only black knee-high boots. The singer placed a rose emoji over her backside.
Spears later posted another, closer-up image of her naked back, adding a candid caption which appears to have since been deleted. In the post, Spears wrote that “the hardest years of my life” were the time when she was estranged from her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.
“I was cut off from calling or texting and I remember in shock my secret to survival was denial and a lot of tears,” Spears wrote, going on to refer to her two-year marriage to Sam Asghari as a “fake distraction to help me deal with it.”
She went on to say that she is “healing,” calling herself “hungry again like a child or baby” and adding that “when I eat it’s like it’s my first time ever eating in my life.” Spears also made reference to the “abuse and trauma” she had experienced and the importance of “owning her body.”
Spears was previously estranged from her two sons, whom she shares with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, since at least 2022, when they chose not to attend her wedding to Asghari. They later moved to Hawaii with their father.
Last year, Spears reunited with her sons. They apparently wished her a happy Mother’s Day over the phone, and Spears later spent time with Jayden in person. In December, Spears posted on social media that she had the “best Christmas of my life” as she spent the holiday with Jayden and Preston.
This was also around the time that her divorce from Asghari was finalized. The couple tied the knot in June 2022, and they were together for just over a year before Asghari filed for divorce in August 2023.
