Reading Time: 2 minutes
After breaking his back in an electric bike accident last year, Simon Cowell has changed up his busy lifestyle to recover. As he gets ready for his big TV return, he’s focused on his health.
Sources say the music mogul used to live like a “vampire,” but he’s changed his ways. Read on to find out what Simon has reportedly been doing to keep himself in good shape as America’s Got Talent starts filming.
How Simon Cowell Is Changing His Lifestyle
Last August, Simon broke his back in multiple places after falling off an electric bike at his home in Malibu. He underwent a six-hour surgery and had to have a metal rod put into his back.
Because of this, Simon missed the live shows of both Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent. However, it was recently announced that he’ll be back on AGT soon for Season 16.

According to the Daily Mail, Simon has been walking 40 miles per week to keep himself healthy following his accident. He’s also apparently holding business meetings at 9 am rather than staying up late.
“Simon said how he hasn’t worn trainers as much as this in 20 years,” a source told the Mail. “He feels fitter than ever before and is keeping to a normal routine rather than being on the phone until into the early hours of the morning.”
Simon Is Returning To ‘AGT’ This Season
It was recently announced that Season 16 of America’s Got Talent will premiere June 1 on NBC. Simon Cowell will be back on the judging panel with Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara.

In December, Simon’s friend Sinitta told The Sun that he had “really looked after himself,” saying he was walking five miles a day and doing physiotherapy.
Simon recently opened up to Extra about the accident that broke his back, saying he’s trying to “stay positive.” He told Terry Seymour, “I made a promise to myself I’d be fitter than I was before I had the accident. And sure enough, that’s what happened.”
