Simon Cowell Hits Two Golden Buzzers as ‘AGT’ Auditions Continue
Reading Time: 2 minutes
America’s Got Talent Season 19 returned on Tuesday night for another round of auditions. There were two Golden Buzzers during the episode — both from judge Simon Cowell. This year, the rules are little bit different.
Simon Cowell Hits Two Golden Buzzers on AGT
Cowell’s first Golden Buzzer of the night went to singer Liv Warfield, who shared that she’s been in the music business for many years — even performing with Prince. She took the stage with her band to deliver an electrifying performance of her original song “Stare.”
The judges gave Liv a standing ovation. Cowell pointed to a song lyric about a “wrecking ball,” saying that’s how the performance made him feel. Then he teased Liv by saying he couldn’t give her a “yes.” Instead, he hit the Golden Buzzer to send her straight to the live shows.
Later in the show, the judges went outside to see an audition from Sky Elements, who put on a huge drone show in the sky outside the theater, featuring a spaceship traveling to the moon, with Cowell as an astronaut. It was so good, the crowd chanted for the Golden Buzzer.
It ended up being Cowell who did the honors for a second time in one episode. His fellow judges questioned how he could hit the Golden Buzzer twice, but Cowell insisted there was no rule about it. To keep things fair, they decided that the other judges would also get two Golden Buzzers each this season.

What Other Acts Made an Impression This Week?
The two Golden Buzzer acts weren’t the only auditions to make an impression on the judges this week. Sabrina, an all-female dance group from Japan, earned a standing ovation for their routine, which was fast-paced and perfectly synchronized.
The judges were also wowed by Hakuna Matata, an acrobatic group from Tanzania who combined rola bola with a dangerous balancing act. The four members created some incredible human towers. Although they slipped up a few times, the judges were still impressed by their talent.
They were also impressed (and terrified) by Bao Cuong, a performer from Vietnam who stuck knives up his nose and put a giant pair of scissors down his throat. He also lifted several pots on chains attached to his eyes and neck. The judges were freaked out, but they all voted to send him through.
