Who is the Cupcake? ‘The Masked Singer’ Prediction + Clues Decoded!

It’s been a sweet start to The Masked Singer season six! But no costume has been sweeter than the Cupcake. Judges and fans alike still aren’t sure of the Cupcake’s gender. This is definitely one of the toughest identities we’ve ever had to guess.
So who could be under the mask in one of the most mysterious reveals yet? And what are the clues that point to their identity? We have all the answers here for you!
Clues on The Masked Singer Season 6
Cupcake’s clues in their premiere raised more questions than answers. Their clues started with two cupcakes on a platter. Could this mean there’s another Cupcake on the way? Then, one of the men in black types 1-9-8-3 into a phone. We see a coffee pot shown, while Cupcake says “it’s been a long time since I’ve been solo; I’m used to sharing the spotlight.” A bottle of whiskey appears on the screen.
They’re doing The Masked Singer with “a real purpose,” they say as a CAUTION: WET FLOOR sign is shown. They said someone they love just got some news about their health. Cupcake is served heart-shaped pancakes, and they claim “food always makes me feel better.” They then get a note on a receipt saying “Go get ’em Girl! -XOXO” They thing this is going to be “so much fun.” To close out the clues, an illuminated ice cream cone is shown on screen.

Popular Guesses for The Masked Singer Cupcake
Jenny got a Whoopi Goldberg voice from her at first, but then guessed Tracy Chapman and RuPaul. Robin thought it might be Jennifer Holliday, but then moved on to RuPaul as well. Nicole said it “could be the legendary Roberta Flack” or Leslie Jones. Ken predicted TIna Turner is under the Cupcake mask.
Most of the predictions online point to either RuPaul or Billy Porter. So Jenny and Robin definitely have some company! But some outliers say Cupcake could be one of the Pointer Sisters or Darlene Love.

Ruth Pointer from The Pointer Sisters!
And there’s a good chance another sister may make an appearance at some point! Though her sister and fellow bandmate Bonnie recently passed away in June of 2020, which could explain her clues about how she was supposed to be there with “another sweet.” Let’s get into the clues though!
“1983,” the number punched into the phone by the men in black, is the same year that the Pointer Sisters’ biggest hit album, Break Out, was released. The Pointer Sisters have a song called “Black Coffee,” which would explain the coffee pot. And her clue about being “used to sharing the spotlight” also checks out, since she was part of a group. Nicole figured out the whiskey clue, because The Pointer Sisters have performed at Whiskey-A-Go-Go.
On the “CAUTION: WET FLOOR” sign, there was also a hand, which could be a nod to The Pointer Sisters’ song “Show Hand.” Plus, if you listen to Ruth Pointer singing, the voice is uncanny! It is definitely this R&B icon from the 1980’s.
