The Masked Singer season 6 is bringing more twists than ever before! And because of that, there’s another mystery duo competing for the Golden Mask this time around. Banana Split is made up of a female singer and a male pianist. To be honest, their costume is one of my favorites this season!
But is Banana Split a sibling pair, related, or a couple? And who is under the masks? Let’s dive into the clues and see who it is!
Clues on The Masked Singer Season 6
Banana Split’s clues mention that being on the show is “so unexpected.” They say Hollywood is a small town, but there are times when it can make you feel small. The female says she came with “big dreams” as she wipes down a counter, and “did what most people do when they get to a big city: got a day job.” She flashes a silver medal at the camera. She quit when she thought she got her big break, only to have to go back to it.
The man says “there’s no such thing as overnight success.” The woman replies, “the key was finding a collaborator who sticks with me through the sweet and sour.” She hits a carnival game to hit “BIG MAN” and win a prize. The man then hits and it lands on “GIVE UP” between 700 and 800.
After their performance, the female explained, “We don’t work together all the time, but I think when we’ve worked together in the past, we’ve worked really well.”

Popular Guesses for The Masked Singer Banana Split
Jenny thought it could be J. Lo and Mark Anthony or Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin. Nicole said it could be Katharine McPhee and David Foster, but Ken thought they were more reserved. Robin grew up with David Foster as an “uncle figure,” but he thinks it’s Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. Nicole predicted it’s Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.
Online, guesses are all over the place but mainly mentioning couples. Popular ones include Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs, Lea Michele and Darren Criss, Mandy Moore and her husband, and Katharine McPhee and David Foster.

With the pairing, the voice, and the clues, this one was a little more obvious than others this season. But we’re hoping the Take It Off button doesn’t ruin their chances! All that being said, Banana Split is…

The combo of people, paired with that voice, really gave them away. But let’s go through how the clues line up too!
A lot of the female’s clues were around her being a waitress and cleaning the stand she was at. This is a nod to Katharine McPhee’s role in the musical Waitress, and also the fact that she worked as a waitress when she was trying to get her big break in Hollywood. The silver medal is obviously pointing to her second place finish on American Idol. And the carnival game they played could be a reference to her role on the show Smash. The stuffed bunny she wins as a prize could also be referring to her role in the movie House Bunny.
On the other hand, David Foster has eight albums. which could explain his “800” on the carnival game. He also jokes about bananas “being good on their own,” which is playing with the fact that he has many awards and nominations separate from Katharine McPhee.
