‘The Masked Singer’ is Already Our New Favorite Show
Reading Time: 2 minutes
The Masked Singer doesn’t premiere on FOX until Wednesday, January 2nd. But from the previews and first look videos, it looks like The Masked Singer will be our new favorite show! The premise is that celebrities dress up in full outfits, covering their bodies and faces. Then, they come onto the stage to sing a song. Meanwhile, the audience and judging panel are trying to figure out who the masked singer is.
You have got to see this for yourself! Here is the preview FOX posted on YouTube:
The preview shows someone dressed as a lion, singing The Mamas and The Papas’ “California Dreamin’.” At first, the judges seem to think it’s a dancer by how she’s standing. Once she starts singing though, they say she must be a singer. She is so talented! The judging panel seems to recognize her voice and vibrato but can’t put their finger on who The Masked Singer is. Apparently the costumes all give hints to the performers too. But this lion? That could be anyone. Robin Thicke guesses Michelle Williams from Destiny’s Child, while Nicole Scherzinger guesses Mel B. Chances are, it’s neither of them. But Ken Jeong says he’s onto her!
The preview goes on to show a bunny, a peacock, a pineapple with abs, an alien, and so many more masked singers. It also says some are Grammy winners, some Emmy winners, and some professional athletes. Former AGT host Nick Cannon will be hosting The Masked Singer. He even teases that he may have been married to a contestant! Could we get a Mariah Carey appearance? After her stints on American Idol and The Voice, it’s not unlikely!
The Masked Singer also posted another first look at season one of the show. So if the preview didn’t get you excited, maybe this will!
Seriously, what’s not to love about The Masked Singer? This show looks epic already. Plus, it’s been a hit all around the world. Twelve celebrities will get into elaborate costumes and masks to hide their true identity. It will be the judges’ job to figure out who’s behind the mask! We’re getting a lot of sneak peeks at the lion, so chances are that will be a big reveal. The dynamic between judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Sherzinger, and Ken Jeong seems fun too. Overall, this show feels like a hit!
If you want to watch more, tune in on Wednesday, January 2nd! The Masked Singer will air only on FOX.
