Yes, it’s Ingrid Michaelson! Maddie will be opening for her on “The Dramatic Tour” this fall. And what a fun way to announce, with a mash-up of Ingrid’s biggest hits. Here’s everything you need to know about the tour and Maddie’s fellow artist.
Who is Ingrid Michaelson?
Ingrid Michaelson is a singer-songwriter from New York. Her genre is indie pop/folk but she has found a lot of commercial success too. “The Way I Am,” her first hit single, reached #37 on the US charts and was certified RIAA platinum. The follow-up single from her next album, “Be OK,” peaked at #91. Then, in 2014, her song “Girls Chase Boys” reached #52 on the charts, again earning an RIAA platinum certification.
Since 2005, Ingrid Michaelson has released nine albums. Most of those nine have reached near the top of the Independent Albums chart. Her most recent, “Stranger Songs,” is inspired by the Netflix series Stranger Things. It released in June of 2019 to critical acclaim.
The Dramatic Tour
“The Dramatic Tour” will take place this fall, from September to October. The exact dates and locations are listed above in Ingrid Michaelson’s Instagram post. So from the West coast to the East coast, fans and listeners everywhere will have a chance to see Ingrid and Maddie Poppe perform together.
As far as what we can expect from both artists, Ingrid has plenty of hits to work with from his extensive history in music. Plus, we know she can put on a live show! She has a great personality that will go well with Maddie’s. On the other hand, Maddie Poppe, fresh off the release of her first album, “Whirlwind,” will have quite the show to perform too. The two artists have a similar vibe so we should expect an amazing concert! And our fingers are crossed for a “You and I” duet.
