Louis Walsh Leaves ‘The X Factor UK’, Is Replaced By Robbie Williams

What we all thought might happen has happened and Louis Walsh, that institution on The X Factor UK, has decided to leave the show after 13 seasons. He will be replaced by music legend Robbie Williams. Louis’ decision came along with lots of other changes to the venerable variety show.
Louis just thought it was time to go…or at least that’s the story he’s telling. He said,
“The show needs a change and I’m ready to leave.”
I can’t say as I’m surprised. Over the years the ratings of The X Factor UK have been on a steady decline, each year worse than the one before it. Simon Cowell and the other producers are trying to figure out how to counteract that. First, they changed a bunch of things in the format of the show and how it was played. Then they got rid of Nicole Scherzinger and haven’t announced who they are replacing her with. Now Louis leaves.
Robbie Williams is a good choice. He’s big with women my age who remember him from his Take That days and younger kids that are fans of his solo stuff will tune in as well. We will be sorry to see Louis go, though. He was my favorite.
