Kelly Clarkson Debuts New Coach Gift in ‘The Voice’ Early Release
Reading Time: 3 minutes
Calling all fans of The Voice! We officially have our first early release of the season. NBC shared their first early release of Vaughn Mugol singing “A Team” by Ed Sheeran. If the season follows how this performance went, we’re in for some great talent and a tough competition.
Vaughn had a very soft singing voice, very similar to Sheeran. Since his voice was so similar, he sang an insanely beautiful rendition. After less than 30 seconds Vaughn already had two coach chairs turned. Kelly Clarkson and John Legend quickly turned their chairs for him while Ariana Grande and Blake Shelton pondered it a bit longer. Shelton never ended up turning his chair for this act, but you could tell he was thinking about it.
When asked about his experiences on stage, Vaughn shared that he is very new to the career because he is actually a nurse. The three coaches fought hard over Vaughn because his technique was absolutely on point. Clarkson even offered him a turquoise jersey that says “Team Kelly” on it, one of her gifts!
If the whole season follows this early release, we’re in for a great treat. Not only was he extremely talented, we got to see how Ariana Grande tries to convince people to join her team for the first time. Grande stuck to talking mostly technique when it came to his voice. She sounded extremely well versed with voices similar to his and the R&B music he hopes to make. It was a great argument compared to Clarkson stating that they’re both from Texas.
Meet Vaughn Mugol, ‘The Voice’s First Early Release Contestant
This nurse has social media filled with travel selfies and a Smule page that’s followed by 10,7000 people. Before auditioning for The Voice, he was seen regularly singing covers on his Smule page. If you already thought his voice is good, just wait until you hear his covers. He’s posted a plethora of different songs and different genres on this app for the past five years, so I’d say he’s ready for anything The Voice could possibly throw at him.
I’m sure everyone was just as upset as I was when the network left us with a cliffhanger at the end of this early release. For the most part, he had a poker face when the coaches were talking to him. That is, until Grande expressed how much she liked his voice. He grinned ear to ear and seemed to really enjoy what she was saying. Although they didn’t announce which team he’s on, I think there’s a good possibility he chose Team Ariana.
On top of his reaction on stage, yesterday he shared a The Voice promotional video on his Instagram story. It could just be a coincidence, but that promotion was all about Grande. Out of all the coaches, Grande sounded like she knew exact techniques to help him grow, so I wouldn’t blame him if he did choose her.
