Dancing With The Stars has officially revealed every theme of their 2025 season. On the show’s new podcast, featuring Joey Graziadei, the host revealed all of the themes set to hit the ballroom this fall. Here’s what you can expect on Dancing With The Stars Season 34.
Dancing With The Stars Reveals Season 34 Theme Weeks
Dancing With The Stars has officially launched their very own podcast where last season’s champion breaks down each episode and shares behind the scenes information. During this week’s episode, Graziadei sat down with hosts, Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro. Near the middle of the podcast, the podcast host revealed each week’s theme.
As fans already know from Tuesday night’s premiere episode, Tuesday, September 23’s episode will be “One Hit Wonder Week.” This will be followed with “TikTok Week” on Sept 30, then Disney Night, celebrating the 70th anniversary of Disneyland on October 7.
Week 5, airing on October 14, will be “Dedication Night,” where celebrities dedicate their dances to special people in their lives. October 21 will be “Wicked Week,” where celebrity partners celebrate the musical Wicked.
Their Halloween-week episode, airing on October 28, of course, will be Halloween themed. The next episode, airing on November 4 will be “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night.” The season will then celebrate their 20th birthday party on November 11. The following Tuesday, November 18 will be “Prince Night” and also the Semi Finals.
The show is set to air its 3 hour Finale on Tuesday, November 25. This continues the tradition of the show wrapping up right around Thanksgiving.
Hosts Say This Season’s Theme is ‘Competition’
When asked what the vibe of the season is, Ribeiro quickly replied with “competition.” He then went on to explain that it’s tough to predict who will win the season and he thinks it’ll remain that way throughout.
While discussing the cast in depth, Ribeiro admits that they’ve seen complaints about contestants with dance experience on the show. He exposed the truth behind casting’s decisions, saying the show would “get boring at times” since every contestant would be on the same journey.
“I think that’s what… has made this show a really great show and what’s been pulling people in is those performances, that’s not week 1,” he said. “But they delivered, and it’s great, and it’s compelling television.”
The podcast host then asked Hough if she thinks the premiere week cast was the strongest of the celebrity casts of the past. She actually admitted that she knew it would be, since she had viewed the cast dancing on TikTok.
When comparing this season to her own. Hough admitted that the competition “got soft” at some point in the nearly 20 years on TV. Although the group is still “a family,” there’s now more competition among the pros.
“I think we’ve got some new blood in here again,” she said. “I feel that there is this nostalgic energy but with this modern take and I think that’s why our show is bigger than it’s ever been.”
The hosts are clearly excited to see how each of the pairs progress in the ballroom this fall. Be sure to tune into Dancing With The Stars on Tuesday, September 23 at 8PM ET on ABC if you don’t want to miss a moment of the competition.
