Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Buble for 'The Voice' Season 28

The Voice has shared a sneak peek video ahead of Season 28 of the show, teasing some fun banter between the coaches. The clip also reveals an exciting new twist for the season involving the show’s longtime host Carson Daly.

The Voice Season 28 Sneak Peek Teases New Twist

In the new sneak peek video, Season 28’s coaching panel can be seen getting goofy during the Blind Auditions. Michael Bublé shows off a pair of socks with Reba McEntire’s face on them, while Snoop Dogg performs a freestyle rap to get a contestant to join his team.

Meanwhile, McEntire can be see encouraging the audience to hold up fans with her face on them. As for Niall Horan, we get to see him react to an auditioning fan who informs him that she knows where his birthmarks are. There’s also a funny moment where Bublé puts Horan in “the penalty box.”

The video also teases a new twist for this season called the “Carson Callback.” As host Carson Daly explains, “Sometimes, I see great singers fall through the cracks. And I’ve never been able to do anything about it, until right now.”

The video doesn’t go into much detail about what the Carson Callback entails, but based on the name and Daly’s comment, it seems to allow the host to save an artist from elimination. We’ll have to wait until the season premieres to learn more details.

When Does Season 28 Premiere?

Season 28 of The Voice will premiere on NBC on Monday, September 22, at 8 p.m. ET. As usual, the season will kick off with the Blind Auditions, as the coaches listen to the artists performing without being able to see them. They turn around only if they want the person on their team.

Season 29 of the show, expected to air in the spring, is also currently in production. The new Battle of Champions season features three coaches instead of four — Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and John Legend.
