Howie Mandel Bluffs on ‘AGT’ Live Show: ‘This is the First Time I Hit a Golden Buzzer for Dancing’

America’s Got Talent fans were taken aback on Tuesday night, when Howie Mandel bluffed, saying that Unreal Crew was the first dance group he’s hit the Golden Buzzer for. This is simply not true, as Mandel has hit the Golden Buzzer for Dance Crews before on AGT, as well as Canada’s Got Talent.
Howie Mandel Says ‘This is the First Time I Hit a Golden Buzzer for Dancing’
Ahead of Unreal Crew’s return to the AGT stage, host Terry Crews had Mandel talk about his Golden Buzzer act. During this glimpse at the act, Mandel proudly acknowledged that Unreal Crew is his Golden Buzzer this season.
“Traditionally, I don’t really get turned on by dancing,” Mandel said. “This is the first time I hit a Golden Buzzer for dancing, this was so unique so impressive.”
After Unreal Crew’s intense, and intricate Quarterfinals performance, Mandel was seen taking his words back. For those who may not remember, Mandel, during Quarterfinals one, told B Unique Crew that they were better than his Golden Buzzer. Unreal Crew admitted that this was salt in the wound for them, since two members of B Unique Crew were once their students.
Immediately after the performance, Mandel was seen standing, saying “I take back everything I said about you last week, that is by far the best dance choreographing, choreography I’ve ever seen in the history of AGT.”
He finished out his statement saying that their dance was a “million dollar act,” and if America doesn’t vote them through “you’re nuts!”
Unreal Crew is NOT Mandel’s First Dance Group Golden Buzzer
Super fans were taken aback by Mandel’s statement, since Unreal Crew isn’t his first dance group Golden Buzzer. Since the Golden Buzzer has been introduced, Mandel has hit it for V.Unbeatable in AGT Champions 2, Light Balance Kids in AGT: All-Stars, Murmuration in Season 18, Brent Street and AIRFOOTWORKS in Season 19, and finally, Unreal Crew in Season 20.
For those who may not know, V.Unbeatable and Light Balance Kids are some of the most well-known dance acts to ever grace the AGT stage. Also, Murmuration and Brent Street made it to the Finale of their respective seasons.
“Wait a minute…I thought Howie’s first dance Golden Buzzer was V.Unbeatable?” a fan wrote on X during the show.
In addition, Mandel hit the Golden Buzzer Funkyverse during the eliminations round in 2025. He also was apart of Audition Round Group Golden Buzzers for both Funkyverse (2025) and The Renegades (2022).
