‘DWTS’ Pros Peta Murgatroyd, Maksim Chmerkovskiy Welcome Baby Boy

Dancing with the Stars pro dancers Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy welcomed a baby boy on Father’s Day. The couple shared the happy news on Instagram. This is their second child together, joining their 6-year-old son Shai.

On Sunday, Chmerkovskiy posted a photo of himself holding his newborn son, whose face is blurred out. The dancer wrote in the post’s caption, “Happy Father’s Day to me!” He added the hashtag #MadeInPeta. The couple has yet to reveal the baby’s name.
Chmerkovskiy had previously posted that it was “go time,” sharing a photo of himself holding his wife’s hand as she rested in a hospital bed. He shared, “Made it to LA from Napa in record time!” (Chmerkovskiy has recently been performing a show in Napa with his brother Val.)
The couple received comments of congratulations from several of their DWTS friends, including fellow dancers Emma Slater, Sasha Farber, and Daniella Karagach — who recently had a baby of her own. She and husband Pasha Pashkov welcomed a daughter named Nikita last month.

The Couple Has Been Open About Their Journey
Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy have been open about their difficult journey to welcoming a second child together. The couple got married in July 2017, a few months after welcoming their first son, named Shai. Over the past few years, they’ve struggled to have another baby.
The dancers documented their journey with IVF on social media, and Murgatroyd shared that she had suffered three miscarriages. After a difficult time, she ended up getting pregnant naturally, announcing the happy news in January of this year.
The news came shortly after Chmerkovskiy’s brother Val welcomed his first child with his wife and fellow DWTS pro Jenna Johnson. The couple had a baby boy together, revealing later that his name is Rome.
