‘DWTS’ Pros Jenna Johnson, Val Chmerkovskiy Reveal Their Baby Son’s Name

Dancing with the Stars pro dancers Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy welcomed a baby boy together last month, and they’ve just announced that his name is Rome Valentin. Johnson shared an adorable new photo of Rome on Instagram this week.

The couple initially didn’t share their son’s name when first announcing his birth. Later, however, Johnson posted a photo in which she could be seen wearing a necklace with the letter “R” on it. This led to speculation from fans as to what the name could be.
One popular guess was Roman, and they weren’t far off. On Tuesday, Johnson shared a photo of her baby son lying on his back and smiling with his eyes closed. Next to him in the photo is a sign that reads, “Hello world, my name is Rome Valentin.”
In the caption, Johnson further confirmed that his full name is Rome Valentin Chmerkovskiy. She added, “Cannot believe it’s been 4 weeks of being completely infatuated with you. Thank you for bursting my heart wide open and showing me what unconditional love is. Mommy and Daddy love you so much!!!!”

Chmerkovskiy Says They ‘Struggled’ to Have a Baby
Chmerkovskiy posted his own photo of Rome on Instagram, showing Johnson holding him up to her face as he smiles. He captioned the photo “pure love, absolute joy.” However, he took to the comments to share that his and Johnson’s path to parenthood wasn’t easy.
“So for all of the women and men that see this picture and potentially feel triggered or anxious, I wanted to remind you that we too struggled,” Chmerkovskiy wrote. “We too waited, and tried, and failed many many times. And as much joy as this has been, it also has been extremely demanding and challenging.”
Chmerkovskiy shared a message for those who may be struggling, writing, “You are not late, you are not wrong, there is nothing wrong with you. Everybody is on their own path at their own pace on their own time.”
