Canada’s Got Talent judge Trish Stratus shared on Instagram that she recently went to the hospital for what turned out to be appendicitis. She documented her experience before and after surgery in a video.
Trish Stratus Hospitalized with Appendicitis
“A reminder that if you ever have a nagging pain in your lower right quadrant – do go to emergency…” Stratus began her post about having appendicitis.
The pro wrestler and actress shared that she felt “crampy” last Monday while traveling and “was working through the pain” on Tuesday. When the pain eventually got worse, she drove herself to the hospital and was told her appendix was about to burst.
Stratus made sure to emphasize that a burst appendix can lead to death, so it’s a good thing she got to the hospital. In her video, she shows herself being wheeled around in a hospital bed and later gives an update that she underwent surgery to have her appendix removed.
The star said she now has three new scars as a result of the surgery, adding that “recovery hasn’t been too bad so far, definitely manageable.”

Stratus Tells Fans to “Listen to Your Body”
Stratus used her experience as an opportunity to encourage her fans to “listen to your body” if something seems wrong. She explained that at first she didn’t realize her pain could be appendicitis, since it was across her belly and not just in the lower right.
She eventually read an article explaining that the pain can start across the abdomen, “but as the appendix gets more inflamed the pain will migrate to the right side and continue to to get worse. And boy did it.”
We’re glad Stratus seems to be doing well after her surgery. It was recently announced that she and her fellow judges will be returning for Canada’s Got Talent Season 2. Reports state that the second season of this show will begin in October. If this season follows suit, it will secure a premiere date in March 2023.
