Host Devo Brown said he talked to people behind the scenes of the show who said Offishall was the tough judge on the panel. Offishall joked that Mandel is spreading that rumor. The rapper took off his sunglasses and said, “Does this look like the face of a mean judge? I’m not a mean judge.”
However, Stratus followed it up by saying “the rumors are true.” The WWE star went on to describe Offishall as “like a kind mean.” Offishall did acknowledge that the audience occasionally booed him when he thought a contestant shouldn’t go through.
Stratus also gave an example of her own judging style when she’s not impressed by an act. She shared that she tells the contestant, “Okay, so I really love what you’re wearing, but your singing sucks.”
However, Offishall said that Stratus will end up being “the darling of the season that everybody loves,” adding of himself, “Say hello to the bad guy!”

Stratus said she “wasn’t sure” what kind of talent she would see on the show, adding that Canada can sometimes seem like “the red-headed stepsister” who is “not as good as America.” She acknowledged that there was a “slow start” to the season, but then things “revved up.”
“I definitely expected for the talent to be there,” Offishall said. “Canadians, all we needed was the platform. And what I love is that this is giving Canadians all across the country that platform. And not just with music … We saw some wild stuff.”
Offishall summed up the season by saying that “every week, there is definitely something incredible.” Stratus chimed in to add, “And also something not incredible.”
Canada’s Got Talent is hosted by Lindsay Ell. The season premieres Tuesday, March 22, at 8/7c on Citytv.
