The sixth Golden Buzzer has officially been given out on the current season of Canada’s Got Talent on Citytv. The judges and host decided to break the rules and award an honorary group Golden Buzzer to Toronto based dance crew, The Renegades. Ahead of the dance crews’s audition, each judge and host had already given their Golden Buzzer.
The Renegades dance crew originated in 2017 with the goal of representing Toronto on an international stage. The group shared that their objective was to bring together a group of people that care about one another. They wanted to create an environment where each member can be true to themselves while also performing in the way they love.

When taking the stage, the group once again reiterated their dream to represent their country on an international stage. Before showing off their talent, The Renegades shared that their dance crew is unique because they accept any person on to their team, no matter the dance level. Instead of strictly looking at dance level, they instead look for people who are excited about the sport and have a positive mindset.
Their choreography and controlled movements blew the audience members away as soon as their act began. Their steps were timed perfectly to the music and featured multiple jaw dropping tricks. Each dancer matched each others intensity and timing impeccably.
As soon as the performance concluded, the judges gave The Renegades a standing ovation. Before any notes, Howie Mandel pulled the other judges and host Lindsay Ell aside to talk.
Before announcing anything, the judges noted that everything about their performance was insanely perfect. The moment they shared on stage made them proud to judge the show.
“I feel like Torontonians like to break rules, you know what I’m saying? [I feel like] We’re the judges and I feel like if we think they’re good enough we can break this rule,” Singh said.
Together, the five celebrities decided to break the rules and award an honorary group Golden Buzzer. The Renegades will go directly into the semifinals alongside other Golden Buzzer recipients: GRVMNT, Jeanick Fournier, Shea, Stacey Kay, and Theo & Mia.
