During Saturday’s premiere, Vinnie McKee took the stage to perform “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by the Proclaimers. The 29-year-old, who is from Glasgow, put a new spin on the classic song, showing off an emotional and operatic voice.
The crowd went wild for Vinnie’s performance, and the judges gave him a standing ovation. Alesha Dixon said she felt like Vinnie was “really fighting” and “trying to prove yourself” with the performance. Guest judge KSI called it “outstanding.”
When the audience started chanting for the Golden Buzzer, Simon Cowell answered the call. Vinnie could be seen getting emotional as the gold confetti rained down around him. Cowell hopped on stage to give Vinnie a hug and tell him, “You deserved that.”
Vinnie is now going straight to the Series 18 Semifinals. But he wasn’t the only contestant to receive a Golden Buzzer during Saturday’s premiere episode.

Comedian Will Burns also took the stage during the premiere to perform impressions. Before his audition, he told the judges that he’s been a superfan of BGT since he was a kid, even owning a Simon Cowell bobblehead.
Will went on to deliver an impression of Cowell making breakfast, getting laughs out of the judges and audience. He also entertained the crowd with his impressions of popular British programs like Gogglebox and Big Brother.
The judges gave Will a standing ovation, and the audience chanted for the Golden Buzzer. Hosts Ant & Dec then ran out from backstage to do the honors. Will was ecstatic, jumping up and down on stage and telling the hosts that they “just changed my life.”
