Blake Thought His Career Was Over And Things Were Just Slipping Away From him!

My man, okay fine, our man—I’ll share. Our man, Blake Shelton, ready for it?
Our man Blake Shelton just got nominated for ‘Single of The Year,’ for ‘God’s Country.’ Which is not it, I know right?
The Voice judge and Garth Brooks also received ‘Musical Moment of The Year’ nomination for ‘Dive Bar’, which was produced by Garth Brooks. ‘God’s Country’ also received ‘Music Video of The Year’ nomination. God’s Country was directed by Sophie Muller.
In his latest Instagram post, our man Blake Shelton wrote “Happy Gods Country is getting some @cma love but mostly happy for some of my favorite people getting nominated Scott Hendricks, @jeneemusic_fiddle, Sophie Muller and @garthbrooks!!! I’m damn proud to work with each you. Also I’m extremely happy for @zdevin, @hardyand @jordanmschmidt for their song of the year nomination! Thank you guys for an incredible song. Congratulations!”
This is big, like really big, especially because Blake has won a total of nine CMA Awards, with his last win coming in 2014 for Male Vocalist of the Year.
Blake’s last nominations for a CMA Awards was in 2015.
In 2014, he was nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year which he won for “Lonely Tonight.” Remember his classic duet with Ashley Monroe?
Blake Shelton has also been nominated for four times for Entertainer of the Year—which is kind of, like really, a big deal.
He has only won Entertainer of the Year once in 2014.
Which for Blake, you know isn’t fair.
But that is not what broke my heart, the saddest thing I ever read today, yes, I found this piece of information out today is that our man Blake thought his career might be over.
“In my last album, it’s weird because even if I said, ‘Hey man, my last record felt like things were slipping, this is slipping off a little bit here,’ people would say to me, ‘What are you talking about? You had the No. 1 song, the album is gold, a platinum single?'” Shelton admitted to PopCulture.com and other media, speaking about Texoma Shore. “But you kind of feel it. So, I was back home in Oklahoma and Scott [Borchetta] sent me ‘God’s Country.'”
Well Blake I hope this proves to you that you are anything except over, you are just starting. You have so many more hits to give us and we love you. Team Blake till we die!
