‘American Idol’s Leah Marlene, Fritz Hager to Perform Together This Summer

American Idol Season 20 contestants Fritz Hager and Leah Marlene will be performing together this August in Leah’s hometown of Normal, Illinois. The two singers have been good friends since competing on the show together earlier this year.
Leah Marlene to Be Joined in Concert by Fritz Hager
On Wednesday, Leah posted an Instagram video taken at the Corn Crib, a stadium in her hometown of Normal. She announced that she would be performing a hometown concert at the venue on Saturday, August 27.
Leah went on to share that one of the special guest openers at the show is none other than Fritz. She called him her “best pal” and promised that he’ll perform an “incredible set.” She also teased that he might perform a few songs with her.
Fritz shared the news on his own social media accounts, writing, “SUPER excited to announce that I will be coming to Normal to open for the greatest human in the world.”
Tickets for the concert go on sale this Friday, July 1, at 10 a.m. Central Time, on Leah’s website. She shared that there will be VIP meet and greet options available. Leah also teased that she would be announcing another special guest for the show next week.

Their Friendship, Journeys on American Idol
Leah and Fritz became friends during Season 20’s Hollywood Week, when they were paired up for a duet. They called themselves Team Green and performed a cover of “Locked Out of Heaven” by Bruno Mars.
Fritz was eliminated from the Top 5, while Leah went on to the Top 3. After his elimination, Fritz called Leah “a star,” adding, “I’m so excited for the music that we’re gonna make whenever this ends. But for now, go win this.”
Fritz went on to win Live with Kelly and Ryan‘s Encore contest, and he got to perform his single “Hearts Align” on the show. Meanwhile, Leah recently shared that she’s planning to move to Los Angeles in the coming weeks.
