American Idol Season 20 finalist Leah Marlene just announced a big life change on Instagram. The singer, who just turned 21 years old, is moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of Normal, Illinois.
Leah Marlene Is Moving to Los Angeles
Leah recently posted two photos on Instagram in which she cuddles her dogs, writing, “After a wonderful few weeks in Nashville, I’m back HOME with my beloved doggos for a few days!!!”
She went on to lay out the next few weeks, writing, “I’m going to Europe next week (whaaa!?!) and moving to LA the week after that. Also working on some show dates! Oh and I turn 21 tomorrow. What a wild time to be alive.”
Some might say Leah buried the lede a bit with that caption, as moving to Los Angeles is a big step, both personally and professionally. Leah’s fellow Idol contestant Nicolina commented her support, writing, “SO PROUD OF U.”
She’s not the only American Idol contestant to make a big move shortly after the show. Season 19 winner Chayce Beckham, for example, moved to Nashville not long after the show ended.

Leah recently celebrated her 21st birthday. The singer posted several photos from her celebration on Instagram, including one where she holds a plate of cookies with “21” candles. In another shot, she laughs with her friends in a backyard.
“20 was by far the craziest year of my life… What on earth will 21 bring??!?!” Leah wrote in the post’s caption.
While we wait for Leah to release new music following her move to Los Angeles, she already has plenty of content available. She released the single “Flowers” as part of her time on American Idol, and she put out an album called Many Colors earlier this year.
