‘X Factor Celebrity’ Is A Mockery Of Real Talent Competitions
Reading Time: 2 minutes
The all new “X Factor: Celebrity’ hit the screens on Saturday night with judges Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh, as this year’s well known hopefuls took to the stage at Simon Cowell’s Malibu house for auditions.
This year’s spin off show saw a totally new format to usual, from Love Island contestants to talk show host Ricki Lake, it’s fair to say the show looks and feels very different!
X Factor is a mockery of real talent competitions
X Factor shot at Simon Cowell’s yearly party at his Malibu residence, you heard it here first! To support the main judges, an audience of music producers and TV stars such as AGT’s very own Howie Mandel and former American Idol judge Randy Jackson sat in Simon’s very own home; it’s clear he wanted the contestants to feel the pressure! Or since all his friends are there, this is not a revival of X Factor as we previously assumed. It is just a cheap shot at trying to save what was until now a respected show. C’mon Simon, that’s just lazy and fake as hell!
X Factor Judges were shocked
As with ‘The Champions’ version of America’s Got Talent, the judges had no idea who was auditioning that evening which lead to huge shock when faces such as Martin Bashir took to the stage. Martin performed his cover of Nat King Cole’s ‘L-O-V-E’ sparking a round of applause from the audience and dedicating it to the loss of his bother.
Howie Mandel’s harsh words
It wasn’t all positive however, duo ‘Cole and Edwards’ after performing ‘Love At First Sight’ received harsh criticism from the panel and it was clear that the audience of music producers were not impressed either. Guest judge Howie Mandel, especially, had some harsh words which didn’t go down well with Jeremy Edwards, he explained to Mirror Online that “they edited down quite a lot of what Howie said and I’m gonna be completely honest with you, I don’t think a lot of it was necessary.” and went on to say that at one point he wanted to tell Howie to ‘shut up’.
The rest of the contestants will perform next Saturday on ITV as auditions continue!
