The Voice Season 27 has officially returned with its next set of blind auditions. Here’s everything you may have missed on Monday night’s episode.
Blind Auditions 2 Began with a Kelsea Ballerini Fangirl
On Monday, February 10, The Voice returned to NBC for the next set of blind auditions. The first audition was none other than early release singer, Tatum Scott. The Nashville based artist performed “vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo.
Kelsea Ballerini and John Legend were the only coaches that turn for Tatum. It was obvious who Tatum was going to choose before she did, since she said “Hi Kelsea, I love you” after her performance. Even Michael Bublé advocated for Kelsea to be her coach. Legend, on the other hand, joked that he listens to Olivia Rodrigo in his car with his kids, so he’s “young and hip.” Unsurprisingly, Tatum chose Team Kelsea.
Team Kelsea is really beginning to fill up now. Also in this episode, Ballerini earned singer Jaelen Johnston. Ahead of Jaelen’s blind audition, Kelsea admitted that she was hoping to find the perfect male country voice. Jaelen performed Luke Combs’ “Where the Wild Things Are” and ultimately chose Team Kelsea.
Michael Bublé Doesn’t Recognize Super Fan
In a crazy turn of events, Michael Bublé wasn’t able to recognize a singer he knows personally. Sports broadcaster Hayden Grove took the stage, singing Bobby Darin’s “Mack the Knife”.
Ahead of the performance, Hayden explained that he sings on TikTok, and even is followed by Bublé. Bublé also brought up Hayden, saying his fans should follow him on TikTok, during a Pittsburgh concert. That being said, it was made clear that Hayden and Michael have not worked together one on one.
In a crazy turn of events, Adam Levine was the only coach who turned for this artist. Other coaches admitted they didn’t turn because they expected Bublé to turn his chair. Bublé on the other hand, admitted that he didn’t turn because he thought Hayden’s rendition wasn’t authentic. Hayden joined Team Adam.
Also joining Team Adam this episode was Four-Chair turner Britton Moore. The baseball enthusiast sang Coldplay’s “Yellow” in his audition. Levine quickly felt a connection between the two, since their tones are very similar. In turn, Britton chose Team Adam.
Team Legend Earns Four-Chair Turn
John Legend also earned a few singers during the second night of Blind Auditions. The first to join his team was Four-Chair turn Bryson Battle, who performed Donny Hathaway’s “A Song for You.” The 21 year old impressed with this rendition of the song, but ultimately knew he was going to join Team Legend.
Then, Kentucky native Jordan Allen took the stage singing Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock & Roll.” Coaches Michael Bublé and John Legend turned for him. Ultimately, he chose Team Legend.
Finally, Ari Camille joined Team Legend. The recent USC grad performed Brandy’s “I Wanna Be Down” in her blind audition. Legend was the first coach to turn for her. Although Bublé joked that he would get the singer’s name tattooed under his children’s names, she ultimately chose to join Team Legend.
Coach Replay Button is Hit Again
TikTok mariachi singer Ricardo Moreno took the stage singing Paul Anka’s “Put Your Head on My Shoulder.” Unfortunately, none of the coaches turned for this singer. Instead, Bublé decided to hit his “coach replay” button for the singer. For those who may not know, this feature makes it so a coach can choose to hit their button for a singer, after the fact.
The coach replay button wasn’t the only special button Bublé hit during this episode. The coach also used his one block against Kelsea Ballerini for singer Braxton Garza. The Michigan native came to the stage singing Warren Zeiders’ “Pretty Little Poison.”
Other artists who performed, but earned no chair turns in this episode were skydiver Susan Hickman, who sang Roxette’s “It Must Have Been Love” and livestreamer Carmela Chases, who sang Audioslave’s “Like a Stone.”
