‘The Masked Singer’ Wasn’t on Last Night, and Fans Weren’t Happy
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Fans were left confused and annoyed on Wednesday night, as The Masked Singer was preempted by an MLB playoff game between the Braves and Phillies. To make matters worse, the show was slow to let people know what was going on.
The Masked Singer Preempted by Baseball Game
The baseball game was originally supposed to take place earlier in the day, but rain delayed it for three hours. The delay caused the game to run through The Masked Singer‘s typical 8 p.m. timeslot on the east coast. Fans took to Twitter to share their annoyance that they couldn’t watch the new episode.
“YOURE TELLING ME IM MISSING ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER WEEK OF THE MASKED SINGER BECAUSE OF A STUPID BASEBALL GAME???? this is why i hate sports,” wrote one Twitter user.
Another user tagged @FOXTV and wrote, “Are you seriously showing baseball right now instead of The Masked Singer? Stop disrupting regular shows and leave sports on sports channels where they belong, that’s the entire point of having them.”
Wednesday’s episode was supposed to be themed to the music of Broadway icon Andrew Lloyd Webber, as new characters Maize, Mermaid, and Robo Girl took the stage in the hope of being named the next King or Queen of The Masked Singer.

Fans Will Have to Wait Until Next Week to Watch
The Masked Singer was slow to update fans about when they would be able to watch the new episode. When the show’s Twitter account finally posted, it seemed like fans might be able to catch the episode later in the night.
The show also warned U.S. viewers that the episode was airing as scheduled in Canada, so they might stumble upon spoilers. If you’re waiting to watch the show to find out who’s under some of the masks, be careful out there.
It wasn’t until after 10 p.m. that the show finally shared the news that the episode wouldn’t be on Wednesday. “Please forgive us…” they wrote. “We’re sorry we missed you tonight, but we’ll see you next week on @FOXTV.”
Fans on the west coast were especially confused, as the show also didn’t air in their time zone. Those looking for the show on Hulu this morning also didn’t understand why it wasn’t available. The streaming service tweeted that the show is “set to return to the usual schedule next week & will be available on Hulu the day after.”
Would prefer the Masked Singer any day over the world series. I am disappointed in Fox. I guess it’s still a sports minded world out there. Moving most of my TV time from regular TV to Netflix and other streaming services because there are too many sports interruptions.
The missing show from last week was suppose to be aired this evening (10-19) at the 7pm an the then the one for this evening (10-19) at 8pm. I am in Maryland and our channel is Fox 5. I did not see it. Did I miss something?😡😡
